About
Camp Cruso is in Haywood County, NC. Cruso is an unincorporated “town” officially… Canton, NC. On August 17th, 2021 a catastrophic flood was produced by torrential rains from Tropical Storm Fred. Lives were lost and far more homes. River clean-up is still ongoing as its mostly been left in the hands of individual landowners and our friends.
Cruso is located at the base of Mt. Pisgah and Cold Mountain. There are thousands of miles of trails for hiking, many waterfalls and nature everywhere. Haywood County boasts the cleanest waters as no water flows from other areas into our community. All our waterways, streams, creeks and rivers… start… right here!
There are over 50 species of salamanders here. There are three native species of trout in our Pigeon River, including Brown, Brook and Rainbow. Kayakers love our river after a good rain as it provides for an awesome trip downstream.
Your adventure awaits.
